SINGAPORE: PETRONAS won three awards at the Asia Pacific Energy Awards Ceremony for the Energy Council.
The country’s oil and gas company also maintained its position as the country’s top annual Southeast Asian Oil Company for the third consecutive time, killing PT Pertamina Indonesia and PTT Exploration and Production Thailand.
Senior Vice President of Development and Production, PETRONAS’s Backbone Business, Adif Zulkifli received the award on behalf of the state-owned oil company.
“This award recognizes and values all parties in many of the teams involved in PETRONAS as a whole.
“The efforts of all those who are unfamiliar with, as well as our partner commitments, as well as successful joint initiatives, enable this success,” he said.
The Awards Ceremony took place in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Energy Awards Dinner, held in conjunction with the 2019 Asia Pacific Energy Association.
The Energy Council Awards are a benchmark for global excellence for those working in the oil and gas industry.
The Awards Awards appreciate and recognize those directly involved in the industry within the last 12 months.
More than 50 judges scrutinized a long list of candidates for several weeks to decide on the winner, based on strict criteria.
“Since its inception 45 years ago, PETRONAS has and continues to be committed in our mission to develop and add value to oil and gas sources.
“We strive to provide commercial and operational excellence as well as enrich the lives of our customers through integrated businesses, always identifying based on customer’s perspective,” Adif said.
PETRONAS also won the Downstream Category while Huluan Exploration Vice-President, Emeliana Rice-Oxley, won the Asia-Pacific Best Female Executive Award.
A total of 10 categories of awards with Malaysian oil and gas companies won four of them.
In addition to PETRONAS, Sapura Energy Bhd’s oil and gas service provider has also received the Best Asia Pacific Company award in energy services, offshore and marine categories.
The Energy Council is a member-platform platform for initiating global agreements and relationships in the renewable energy sector, as well as the oil and gas sector.
The Dinner Awards took place at Raffles City Convention Center, Singapore.
