PETALING JAYA: Malaysian integrated oil and gas services company Sapura Energy Berhad has won the Company of the Year for the Energy Services, Offshore, and Marine category at the Asia Pacific (APAC) Energy Awards by the Energy Council.
Sapura competed with leading global industry players for the award and over 50 judges sat and discussed for several weeks to determine the winner.
President and group chief executive Shahril Shamsuddin said the award was a recognition of the hard work and dedication of Sapura’s employees around the world.
He also thanked the company’s partner Petronas and clients for their support.
“Through the guidance of our sponsors, mainly under the Petronas vendor development programme, we have been able to build our competencies and expertise to be a full-fledged global player in the engineering, procurement and construction field,” Shahril said in a statement today.
Sapura operates in over 20 countries.
The Energy Council Awards honour and recognize excellence among players in the oil and gas industry.
During the ceremony, held at the Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore, major oil and gas players participated and discussed issues impacting the industry and factors influencing its recovery.
